Origin:
I started rosting coffee back in 2015 or so after my return from being deployed to South Korea. South Korea had an absolute ton of coffee houses all viying to be the next Starbucks. This created a lot of competition and desire to catch the attention of the patrons. Most places did this with top quality coffee, no gimmicks. These places let the coffee do the talking. I had some of the best coffee of my life in South Korea and want to bring that passion and love here, to Cascade, Montana. I started with a modified air popcorn popper and quickly progressed to more advanced roasting machines. Today I roast exclusively on a Kaleido M6 Sniper in 450 gram batches. Light roast to dark roast, Ethiopian to Vietnamese, coffees span the world as do our endevors to find the best coffee to roast.
Our staples that are always available are:
Treasure State Blend, First Light 2.0
Assayers Reserve:
These coffees are single origins, not blends and showcase an exceptional bean with amazing flavors.
Treasure State Blend - this blend is a mix of coffees that show classic-toned flavors bittersweet and bright, and is extremely versatile in roasting and brewing methods, including espresso. No matter the roast level, you can expect a syrupy sweetness in the cup that rounds out bright citrus in the light roast, and bittering low tones.
Available in Light and Medium/Dark Roast
First Light 2.0 - While this blend is intended for espresso shots, it is an excellent dark roast for pour over or drip.
Available in Medium/Dark Roast
Light Roast - roasted to 415-420 degrees Farenheit
Medium/Dark Roast - roasted to 430-435 degrees farenheit
The goal of the medium/dark roast is to get as close to second crack as possible without having oily beans. The beans are dropped a few degrees earlier than the final temperature and the residual heat rises to the needed final temperatures.
